As a documentary wedding photographer in Spain (or, to be clear – anywhere else!), I try my best to tell the story of the entire wedding day in my own, creative way. I hunt for poignant little moments that would often go unseen; I want to capture the joy, the energy and all the emotions, be it laughter or tears. And having that in mind, I have to say, Nikki and Darren, who decided to have their wedding at the Cortijo de los Caballos near Marbella, were my perfect clients. They gave me all that and then some.
Their wedding day was perfect from start to finish and I absolutely loved their attitude – happy and laidback, enjoying every minute of their big day with their family and friends. They let me do whatever I wanted – photographically speaking – so I made them jump, bite teeth and frolic 🙂 And we had so much fun! I know it’s probably not too difficult to put people in a good mood when your wedding venue looks amazing, the weather is perfect and you’re surrounded by good friends. Plus a sip of Scottish whiskey 😉
Telling the story
As a wedding photographer, I tend to attract clients who value natural, spontaneous photography that conveys the essence of their wedding day. And as much as I love to photograph all the little details and pretty things, I really feel that nothing beats true emotions and making memories with the nearest and dearest.Â
For me, going to a wedding is a bit like a hunting game and I hunt for emotionally-charged moments that go beyond the regular wedding photography, and it’s so rewarding to hear from my clients something like this:
“Anna they are absolutely stunning!!! I cannot thank you enough – amazing. What a stunning job you’ve done. Thank you xx”
Well, mission accomplished 😉
