Wedding at Las Sirenas in Sotogrande

April 3, 2018

Getting married in Spain

As a wedding photographer, who’s called Costa del Sol home for nearly 10 years, I got to see many incredible wedding venues around Costa del Sol. From the beautiful fincas and cortijos set in the secluded areas of Andalucia to hip and luxurious beachfront hotels and beach clubs.

Naturally, some are prettier than others, but I think the venue should most of all reflect the bride and groom’s taste and character.

And when I thought I’ve seen it all, Nicole and Antony contacted me as they had been looking for a wedding photographer in Sotogrande. When they mentioned their wedding venue it did not ring a bell at all so I was excited to see it for the first time when they were visiting Spain.

Finding a luxury wedding venue near Sotogrande

Secluded and private, Villa Las Sirenas is one of the most incredible and, dare I say, eccentric private residences on Costa del Sol.

When I arrived at the venue and the gate opened, I felt like I entered a different world- or a film set. Peaceful yet exotic, only a stone throw from the coast of Sotogrande, but also miles – and centuries – away from it all.

The incredible architectural piece was influenced by Italian Renaissance and it oozes tranquility and timeless elegance. Its grounds are spectacular and vast. It took us a while to just circle the venue! And while at some of the wedding venues I sometimes struggle to find interesting corners for my wedding couple photos, here I was overwhelmed with choice. From terraces to patios and gardens, to forests and fountains. I particularly loved all the water features there – Las Sirenas or Mermaids and the most beautiful marble swimming pool that proved to be useful when the dancefloor got a bit hot :).

The wedding day

Having a wedding that is celebrity-infused, fashion inspired and in an unusual wedding venue like Villa Las Sirenas, with some of the best music selection, has to be a success. Of course, being a gorgeous bride with hypnotic eyes like Nicole, and having a pretty dapper groom like Antony, can help a bit, too. However, what I particularly loved about their wedding day was its effortless elegance and the positive vibe, right from the getting ready at the hotel in Sotogrande to the wee hours on the dancefloor.
